AMR Trip Report
Summary

Advocacy in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
Worldwide deaths from acute respiratory infections, diarrheal diseases, malaria, measles, AIDS and tuberculosis account for more than 85% of the mortality from infection. Resistance to antimicrobials is highly prevalent in each of these diseases. With inappropriate prescription and use of antimicrobials and/or treatment with antimicrobials of substandard quality, resistance emerges more rapidly.  To support USAID’s strategy for antimicrobial resistance containment, Links Media initiated a country-level advocacy and capacity building activity in Ethiopia, training the trainers, journalists and spokespersons.
