Summary

According to the World Health Organization’s Global Tuberculosis Report 2008, Mexico had an estimated 22,473 cases of tuberculosis in 2006, with an estimated incidence rate of 21 cases per 100,000 of the population. Links Media worked with USAID/Mexico and Mexico’s National Tuberculosis Program to pilot a national information, education, and communication strategy in 5 priority states, producing an IEC strategic recommendation for the national program, multimedia in 6 languages (Spanish + 5 indigenous), an evaluation methodology, and increased capacity on the state and local level in priority states through technical assistance training.
